CLIMATE CONTROL INSTALLATION GUIDE
97-01 Honda Prelude

*Please read this all the way through before doing this install!*
We will not be held responsible for any mistakes, problems, or damage done to any part of your car. Follow this install guide carefully, and you should have no problems. If you are unsure about ANYTHING, please email us. We will help you out to the best of our ability.

Here Is What You Will Need:
- Phillips head screw driver
- Flat head screw driver

The following items are not needed for solderless kits
- A fine point soldering iron ($8 - RadioShack part number: 64-2051)
- Solder (can be found at RadioShack for around $4)
- Crescent wrench

- Tweezers

First, we need to remove the trim panel around the climate control and radio. Use a flat head screwdriver at the edges to gently pry between the dash and the plastic trim piece. Pull the trim piece off (this may take some force.) The trim panel is held in with 8 clips (shown below.)

Now that we have the panel off, remove the 4 screws that hold the climate control unit in place.

Pull the climate control out enough to access the wire harnesses and unplug them. Next we have to remove the cable that is attached to the temperature slider. Remove the screw on the brass "clamp" shown below:

Remove the end of the cable from the climate control. When reinstalling, put the end of the cable back over the plastic post. You will see marks in the black part of the cable where the bracket was located. Just line up the marks where the bracket will go, put the bracket back on and install the screw.

Remove the climate control unit from the car. Next, remove the 3 bulbs shown below:

To get to the filters that need to be removed, we first have to remove the buttons. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pop them off. They should come off easy by gently prying them off. Just remember what button goes where so you can put them back on in the correct order.

Use your fingers or your small flat head screwdriver to remove the filters. They are just stuck on a clear plastic light bar that is inside the climate control unit.

Put all the buttons back on (make sure they are in the correct order.)

Installing the LEDs

Install the LEDs and test them. If any LEDs do not light up, simply rotate them 180 degrees and test again. The best way to rotate them is:
1. Unlock the LED and plastic base - approx 1/4 turn counter clockwise so it can be removed.
2. Pull the LED and base out of the hole just enough to turn it 1/2 a turn (180 degrees)
3. Put it back in the hole
4. Twist it to lock it in (approx 1/4 turn clockwise).
